Botánika recently hosted an enthralling series of chess tournaments, extending an open invitation to the residents of Puerto Jiménez town, where the resort is situated. Over the span of two weekends, participants of all ages, including both children and adults, engaged in intense battles on the chessboard.

On the concluding evening of the second weekend, following numerous rounds of intense gameplay, victors were declared across various categories and were honored with awards and symbolic cash prizes. We sincerely hope that everyone had a great time, and we aspire for the local chess community to flourish and expand.

This event was organized in collaboration with Ajedres sin Fronteras (Chess Without Borders), a community promoting chess workshops in rural areas spanning from Panama to Costa Rica. Botánika and Crocodile Bay took great pride in sponsoring this event, as it granted the local community access to chess classes and tournaments, fostering a greater appreciation for the game.
