Costa Rica is on the rise, and it’s not surprising. The country boasts lush rainforests, stunning beaches on the Caribbean and Pacific, an uplifting pura vida lifestyle, and relative proximity to North America. Best of all, the country’s natural beauty and culture are more accessible than ever thanks to some world-class resorts.

Botanika Osa Peninsula Luxury Eco Resort

One of the best of these resorts is Botanika Resort on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, a part of Hilton’s Curio Collection. The resort, opened in 2022, comprises four modern buildings in the coastal rainforest outside Puerto Jimenez. It’s an elevated gateway to the best of Costa Rica — all with the service and quality we expect in a Hilton hotel.

Ahead is our full overview of the resort.

Design: Upscale yet Laid-Back

Arriving via Puerto Jimenez, Botanika Osa Peninsula doesn’t jump out of the natural landscape. The resort is tucked discreetly in the foliage, allowing the coastline and lush rainforest to take center stage. All of the buildings showcase a modern, clean design language that prioritizes wood, stone, and open-air spaces.

The rooms speak the same language with modern lines and subtle bohemian decor. Spacious yet cozy, they feature large windows and balconies for viewing the thick greenery and wildlife like exotic birds and monkeys. Best of all, you can (literally) rest assured that you’re getting all the comforts of a Hilton hotel room: great air conditioning, perfect beds, and plenty of privacy.

But don’t let the resort’s laid-back fool you. It’s packed with amenities, including two restaurants, a full spa, and a large, 24/7 gym. The lagoon-style pool is a gem with sun trickling down past the jungle leaves to cabanas and lounge chairs.

A Gateway to Local Culture & Activities

Too many resorts end up being a bubble within their locale. Botanika is not one of them, functioning as both a secluded oasis and a base camp for adventures beyond the property lines.

The resort offers guided eco-adventures on land and sea that take full advantage of the Osa Peninsula’s unparalleled biodiversity. Go sport fishing with local experts, watch animals like monkeys, birds, and whales in their natural habitat, or go zip-lining through the trees.

Equally attractive as the wildlife adventures are the cultural ones. The nearby town of Puerto Jiménez, accessible by walking or biking from the resort, is home to a welcoming populace of artists, fishermen, and families. Local restaurants, grocery stores, and shops allow guests to experience the pura vida life first-hand.

Thoughtful, Intuitive Service

Although Botanika has its own distinct character and charm, it is a Hilton. That means service that’s always helpful and proactive, but as friendly and relaxed as the environment. Expect all your needs to be met or even anticipated —whether you’re ordering breakfast or planning an excursion. Most of the staff also hail from the Osa Peninsula, bringing knowledge of the area and the local culture.

Hilton is currently offering the Stay Longer in Paradise deal at select properties across Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. Guests can save up to 20% when booking longer stays, with a minimum length of stay of three to seven nights, depending on the hotel.
