OSA PENINSULA
Botánika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton™, is masterfully nestled in the heart of Costa Rica’s pristine Osa Peninsula, deemed one of the most biologically intense places on Earth thanks to 10,000+ species of plant life, 850 varieties of birds, 205 species of mammals and the largest population of scarlet macaws north of the equator. Experience two of Costa Rica’s most prized environmental jewels: Corcovado National Park and the Golfo Dulce, one the world’s few tropical fjords that also welcomes sea turtles, whale sharks, dolphins and migrating humpback whales. Where wildlife wanders, you will wonder.
PUERTO JIMÉNEZ
Botánika thrives in the friendly hamlet of Puerto Jiménez, a welcoming village where you can mingle comfortably in a tight-knit community of artists, fishermen and families. With grocery stores, banks, restaurants, a government-operated medical clinic, and even a gourmet organic ice cream parlor, Puerto Jiménez is a safe, small town where living is easy. Walk or bike just a few minutes from the resort and discover Costa Rica's pura vida lifestyle, indulging in ceviche with local residents and getting an authentic taste of the culture.
CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK
The acclaimed Corcovado National Park is a stunning living museum of natural history boasting the last great unspoiled tract of primary tropical rainforest on the Pacific Coast of Central America. Covering one-third of the Osa Peninsula, the park encompasses 13 major ecosystems including lowland rainforest, highland cloud forest, jolillio palm forest, mangrove estuaries, and coastal and marine habitats. From its volcano sand coast lined with coconut trees to the muddy trails of the enchanting rainforests, Corcovado National Park is unlike any other place in the world and presents the adventure of a lifetime.
SURFING
PAVONES, MATAPALO and PRECIOSA BEACHES
Pavones—one of the top 10 surfing destinations found anywhere—is the second longest warm water left hand break in the world. This surfer’s paradise boasts legendary swells located in the midst of a fertile self-sustaining area that borders 20 fresh-water rivers. Matapalo remains largely undiscovered—a secluded pristine and private environment with three surf spots and strong right breaks: Pan Dulce, Backwash Bay, and Playa Matapalo. Pavones and Matapalo are only accessible by a dirt road or boat, and Preciosa Beach offers secluded, unspoiled shoreline perfect for bodysurfing.
